Signals & Logic
Our scanner reads 5-minute price bars during market hours and runs a multi-indicator check (EMA trend, MACD momentum, RSI strength, VWAP alignment, plus a higher-timeframe bias). A signal fires only when the indicators agree AND a clean stop and target exist with at least a 1.5-to-1 reward-to-risk ratio. Setups that do not meet all conditions are skipped — quality over quantity.
Before a short-term signal fires, we cross-check the 15-minute trend on the same symbol. Buying is only allowed when the bigger-picture trend is also up; selling only when it is down. This keeps you from fighting the dominant move on the chart.
A free-form analyzer for any ticker. Type a symbol, pick a timeframe (5min through 1Day), and you get an instant read: current entry, stop-loss, target, risk-to-reward, plus pivot points and Fibonacci levels from the previous trading day. It works outside market hours too — useful for after-hours research.
Stops sit at the nearest support level for a buy (or resistance for a sell). Targets sit at the next opposing level. The platform also widens noise-level stops automatically so an ordinary wiggle cannot stop you out of a good setup.
TradingView Signals
Our proprietary TradingView indicator watches 72 hand-picked symbols in real time (mega-caps, high-momentum names, sector ETFs, and a diversified basket). When the setup confirms on a 5-minute bar close, the signal lands in your feed in under a second — identical to every subscriber.
Every TradingView signal is rated 0 to 100 based on seven factors: reward-to-risk ratio, whether the symbol is on today Daily Picks list, VWAP alignment, RSI strength, time of day, support/resistance source, and stop tightness. The dashboard color-codes them: Premium 80–100, Good 60–79, OK 40–59, Weak below 40. Set your own minimum score in Profile.
Nothing happens automatically — but the signal still appears on the Trading Signals page with a Trade button. Click it and the Add Trade form opens pre-filled with the symbol, quantity, entry, stop, target, and option details. Review and confirm.
Day-trade buy signals that arrive in the final 15 minutes before close are skipped automatically. There simply is not enough time for the trade to develop before end-of-day flatten. Swing and longer-horizon signals are exempt. You can tighten or relax this window in Profile.
Risk Management
When you enter a stock trade, the protective stop starts as a fixed stop at your signal level. It only converts to a trailing stop AFTER your position is up by one full risk-unit (1R). For options, the trailing stop only activates after a +25% gain. Below those thresholds, normal market noise cannot shake you out. The trade has room to breathe before the trail engages. SMART STOPS
As a winning trade climbs, the platform progressively tightens the trail AND raises a locked-in profit floor. Options: at +25% you have a small trail with breakeven locked; at +50% the trail tightens and +20% gain is locked; at +100% gain is locked at +50% and the trail tightens again; at +200% the floor jumps to +120%. Stocks: similar tiering in R-multiples (+1R, +1.5R, +2.5R, +4R). Once a tier is reached it never loosens — winners keep paying out, then auto-protect. PROFIT LOCK
No. Every close path checks Alpaca first to confirm you actually still hold the long. If your protective stop already fired, the platform refuses to submit another sell. It is mechanically impossible for a close to flip your account from long to short. SAFETY
Before any buy fires, the platform scans your trade journal for the IRS 30-day wash-sale rule. If buying would disallow a recent loss on the same symbol, you get a clear warning. For auto-trades, the signal is skipped automatically.
The platform refuses to auto-trade any symbol that reports earnings in the next 24 hours. Earnings moves are unpredictable and break stop-loss models. You can still manually enter through earnings if you want the exposure.
If your cumulative losses for the day hit your configured threshold (default 5% of account), the platform pauses all new auto-trades for the rest of the session. Forces a cooling-off period. Manual entries still work.
Scanners & Tools
A unified Market Explorer with eight discovery tabs: Most Active, Top Gainers, Top Losers, 52-Week High, 52-Week Low, Pre-Market Movers, Today Catalysts, and Undervalued / Overvalued. Plus a daily-curated Daily Picks list and the on-demand Signal Checker. PRO
Save favorite symbols and attach alert rules: price above, price below, percent change, or buy/sell signal fires. Alerts deliver via in-app bell, email, and Discord (your choice). PRO
When a trade closes, a row is automatically logged to your trade journal with the full story: entry and exit prices, profit/loss in dollars and percent, why it closed (target, stop, trail, end-of-day), the original signal source, and strategy tag. No manual data entry — your journal stays complete. PRO
Every closed row in the trade journal carries a small badge explaining the reason: Target hit, Stopped, Trailing exit, Profit lock triggered, End-of-day flatten, Reversed by opposite signal, Manual close, or Watchdog. The badges are color-coded so you can scan your day at a glance.
Market Explorer
A single tabbed page that replaces nine separate scanner pages. Eight tabs cover every common discovery need: Most Active, Top Gainers, Top Losers, 52-Week High, 52-Week Low, Pre-Market Movers, Today Catalysts, Undervalued, and Overvalued. Click any symbol to deep-dive into the Signal Checker.
Genuine extended-hours data, refreshed every 15 minutes during the windows. Pre-market (4:00–9:30 AM ET) measures percentage moves against the previous regular close. After-hours (4:00–8:00 PM ET) measures against today regular close. Off-radar small-cap runners are included — not just the curated universe.
A clean week-grid showing every confirmed earnings report by day, grouped into before market open (BMO) and after market close (AMC) buckets. Filter by sector or by major-name tickers. Also drives the auto-trade earnings blackout. PRO
Auto-Trading
Auto-Trading places real orders on your own Alpaca account the moment a qualifying signal fires — no manual clicks required. You stay in full control: every signal is logged, you set the quality threshold, and you can flip it off any time. PREMIUM
No. The recommended setup is Alpaca Paper Trading — free forever, virtual cash, but the order flow and fills behave exactly like real trading. Most subscribers run paper for several weeks before considering live.
Step-by-step guide: Alpaca Setup. Short version — sign up at alpaca.markets, switch the dashboard to Paper, generate API keys, and paste both keys into your JKM Profile. Takes about three minutes.
Yes. Keys are encrypted at rest in our database, scoped to your user account only. The platform can only submit and cancel orders — it cannot move money in or out of your brokerage account. Remove them anytime from Profile.
High-priced option contracts can slip 5–10% on a plain market order. With LIMIT entry enabled, the platform first tries a limit order at the signal mid-price, waits a few seconds for fill, then falls back to market if needed. Better fills when the order book is calm, no missed entries when it is not.
In priority order: profit target hit, profit-tier trail triggered after activation, locked profit floor hit, signal stop hit, an opposite signal fires, pre-close options flatten at 3:55 PM ET, end-of-day stock flatten at 4:00 PM ET, or you click manual close.
Safety Nets
Multiple layers of protection. First, a stack of five internal end-of-day routines runs between 3:53 and 4:02 PM ET to progressively flatten positions. Second, an external watchdog runs at 3:58 PM completely independent of the main app — if the platform is hung or crashed, the watchdog talks directly to Alpaca and flattens any leftover day positions. Your day-trade positions cannot be stranded overnight by a software outage.
Two daily syncs at 9:25 AM and 4:30 PM ET compare your platform records against Alpaca actual holdings. Anything you closed manually on Alpaca (or that the broker auto-flattened) is auto-matched in your trade journal with the correct fill price and P&L. Your journal stays accurate without you having to babysit it.
Admins have an emergency control to flatten everything mid-day — useful before a holiday or unusual event. Pick the user scope and instrument type, preview the outcome (dry run), then execute. Uses the same position-aware safety guards as the automatic close paths.
Alerts
Three channels: the in-app bell icon, email, and Discord. Configure your preferences on Profile under Alert Preferences — pick which channels you want for entries, exits, and the daily digest. Set a minimum signal score so you only hear about quality setups.
All passing signals fan to #day-trading-buys or #day-trading-sells. Higher-quality signals fan up too: #premium-signals for score 70+, #elite-signals for score 85+. Conservative traders join only #elite; aggressive traders join all three. You control which to mute or follow.
By design, only public signal alerts go to Discord and they are fully anonymized (no usernames, no P&L). Anything personal goes to email: your own auto-trade fills, broker rejections, the daily P&L digest, and account-level notifications. We never expose per-user data on public channels.
A clean HTML email every weekday at 4:30 PM ET: today closed trades with wins and losses, your daily win rate, biggest movers, and any still-open positions. Quiet days send no email (no spam). Toggle it on or off in Profile.
